One of the best symbols of Ottoman's "Tulip Era" located betweeen Besiktas and Ortakoy, Çırağan Palace built for III Ahmet's daughter and groom Ibrahim Pasha's wife Sultan Fatma.
Palace takes its name from fireband (meaning Çırağan in Persian) carnivals took place in palace.Palace renewed on II Mahmut era. Abdulmecit demolishes the palace to build new one but during renewal process he dies.The new palace is completed in 1871 by the famous architects of the era Balyan brothers in Sultan Abdulaziz era.
Palace started to be used as Ottoman Parliament in 1909. Building has damaged badly in 1910 fire and never used for a long time.In 1987 renovations started and completed in 1992. Today palace is being used as both hotel and museum.
