Located on the asian side of Istanbul at Beylerbeyi district, palace takes its name from Rumelian grand seigneur Mehmet Pasha's waterside residence.The time building's land joined palace land, instead of this waterside residence, in 19th century II. Mahmut builds a wooden palace. After 1851 fire, palace has not used for long time.
Then Sultan Abdulaziz ordered the famous architects of the era; Balyan brothers to build a new palace.New palace has used as both summer and guest house.Reflecting the Ottoman architecture perfectly, palace has 26 rooms and 6 living rooms. There are trees, sculptures and pools in the garden.Abdulhamit captured in the palace after dethroned till his death. In Republic era the first president of Turkish Republic, Atatürk hosted his guests here. Today palace is serving to its guests as a museum.

You can visit Beylerbeyi Palace between 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. except Monday and Thursday.
