Located in Fatih district at Balat, built in 15th century, synagogue takes its name from Macedonian city Ohri where Jews immigrated from. Ahrida Synagogue is the largest synagogue in Istanbul.
Built from stones and bricks, synagogues prie – dieu resembles bow. A school is located in the yard of the synagogue.
Ahrida Synagogue is the only synagogue visited by Sabbathaians prophet Sabbath Sevi.
